Simple.. can be done in less than 5 mins..
01. Open Hood, disconnect positive battery cable. (make sure you have your anti-theft radio code ready)
02. Remove plastic panel below your old ugly headlights, it is held in place in the inner side of car of the panel. 03. Remove 10mm Bolt on top of headlight (black color) 04. Remove two 10mm nuts on the bottom of headlight (black color) 05. Pull out headlight carefully 06. Detach bigger harness (7 wire, headlight harness) from headlight, and unplug smaller harness (signal) from headlight. while u're at it put on the new 2002 projector headlights =) |

I wouldn't recommend the disconnecting the battery for this particular job. If the headlight switch is off, you are safe.
The hardest part is the trim under the headlights. There is a double catch on the "inside" (towards the center of the truck), these are released first (hard to describe, if you're mechanically inclined, you should be able to figure it out). Then the trim is pulled forward, pivoting it outwards. The trim can be detached from the fender. You will see a black plastic clip on the fender, just leave it there, the trim piece will re-engage into it just fine when you reinstall it. Then remove the 2 nuts underneath and the bolt on top. It's kind of a pain to remove and reinstall it, due mostly to the plastic bracket which is on the "fender" side lower nut, the nuts thread on to long studs, and if you just concentrate on getting the headlight off of the studs, and back on again when finished, it'll go smoother. For changing just bulbs, I wouldn't even disconnect the electrical connectors, just before you start removing the headlight assembly itself, drape an old towel on top of the fender to protaect the finish and let the headlight assembly lay on the towel after being pulled out away from the body. Be sure the bulbs are properly seated in the headlight assembly, we have had a few headlight alignment complaints which were actually caused by poorly seated bulbs. If the bulb is crooked it will affect the alignment. Gilly

Nah, I wouldn't be able to hack the classroom stuff. Just really uncomfortable in classroom settings (in front of crowds), I've tried, believe me. I am really into motorcycling and take it seriously. Became an instructor for MSF (Motorcycle Safety Foundation), but all I wanted to do was the outside "range work", just freeze up in the classroom, even though it was a subject I really loved, I just disliked it alot. The work outside on the actual driving range I liked, I could deal with people individually or even a fairly large crowd then.

So what type of bikes do you like?
I have a friend who specializes in BMW mechanics, he himself has 5 BMW's, I like Honda CBR's and Kawasakies.. Did you modify your bike too?

I have a BMW K75S, it's an '87, I bought it new.
Here is a link to a K75S site I actually just stumbled on to just now so i could post a picture: http://www.gunsmoke.com/scot/k75s.html My color is called "Columbia Silver", which is a greenish-silver color, very pretty color. My engine and wheels are also a natural aluminum color. The one in the picture has mostly all black painted aluminum, which I dislike. my bike has about 80,000 miles on it, as i said i bought it new. Been on lots of trips with it, as far south as Arizona and Texas, out to California and up the coast to Washinton State, and several trips to Canada (Ontario several times and out to BC). It sure has been a great bike. I am looking to the future. Now finally after about 15 years BMW has come out with what I feel would be an appropriate replacement: http://www.bmwmotorcycles.com/machine/models/model.jsp?model=k1200gt The bike on the first page of this site is fairly close to the color of my K75S. Of course, this would do also: http://www.marineturbine.com/superbike/ (be sure to turn on your speaker and click on the icon on the top left corner......tooooooo KooooooL!) Gilly
