ML Key remote reprogramming costs
 

Hi all,
i read the threads about buying a key and just resyncing it yourself. My question is....well if I bought this, and say the reprogarmming worked...how much will the dealer charge me to REkey the the switchblade to the car??


My cousing bought a used 2000 ML which did not come with a remote. So i advised him to by a key off ebay for 40 dollars or so and resync it himself. But i dont know about rekeying the acutally key. Thanks for your help..

I always laugh when i see a key on ebay, they are assigned to each car individually, both by the blade and electronically (transponder inside the key). An ebay key will only work if for some odd reason someone is ebaying YOUR key.
The blade is removeable in case you break your blade you can get another one seperately.
Throw the ebay key away.
Buy a new key, a "good" dealer should do the learn procedure for free if you buy the key from them.
