rear hatch lock actuator

Typical of the service provided by our dealer ( Lone Star motors - Calgary ). For four years ( from new ) we have assumed stupidly that the rear door did not lock with the key pad. If you opened it, the alarm would trigger.

Took it to another dealer for an A service and they discover the actuator is faulty.

Now it is off warranty and the selling dealer will not help.

Did your car lock, unlock and then lock the door again whenever you locked it? That is what ours did when the rear lock mech. failed.

This should be a warrantee item. The rear hatch lock has a plastic piece that keeps breaking and MB won't get Bosch to redesign the damn thing. Just go to your dealer and tell them you know about it being a chronic problem. Folks on the M-Class Mailing List have known for a while...
