I have an 1998 ML320 and the dealer has enabled the Integrated Fog Lamps, however after 2 attempts cannot get the Dash Indicator Light for this to work. Their conclusion is that this is not possible on a 1998 (even though it is referenced in the owners manual). Is this true or can you tell me how they can make this work (so that I mass pass it on to them). Thanks! Mark (PS-I have a very good relationship with my dealer)

The light only turn os when you pusch the button on the bottom side. The light turns on when the fog lights in the front are on and the rear fog light built into the light assemblly.

I have and ML430 and have the same thing, and had them wire the my first set of auxillary lights into the rear lights. As soon as I get my grille guard from Manik, I am going to added a second set which will be wired to the front switch (the top side of the button.)

Its an MB thing. Even my 190E and other 300E have the same thing, the light on the light switch doesn't turn on unless you have on the rear fog light setting, which turns on the built in amber ones as well.

Hope this helps.

Charlie, I understand what you are saying, but what you didn't see in my question is that there is a light (green) in the dash pod that is suppose to light up when the integrated fog lamps are turned on (by pushing the upper part of the switch). This is clearly referenced in my Owners Manual. That is the light I'm talking about. Thanks anyway, Mark

Your assumption is correct. There is a setting to turn the front fog light indicator "on" in the instrument cluster starting in 1999.
