Rear cargo light - ML320
 

The 3 position rear cargo light in my 99 ML seems not to work in the "door" setting. I looked all around the door jamb for a switch that indicated that the door was open or closed, and I didn't see any type of mechanical switch. Is there such a switch and if so, where is it? Is the problem likely to be in the door switch or in the light switch on the interior ceiling?

My opinion is it's more than likely the switch. Unfortunately it's located in the latch assm and I don't believe it available seperately. You have tried the different switch positions, right? The switch should be in position 3, furthest to the right I believe, it's a 3 position switch.
