2000 ML320 trans-missing
After the 50K warrenty service (the dealer charged MBUSA 7K) we have had this POS in 7 times because the check engine light keeps coming on. The latest was a oxygen sensor and catalitic replacement. Immediately upon return the transmission started shifting rough and big surprise the check engine light came on. Back to the shop and with 62k mi they think it needs a new transmission. The symptoms are still intermitent rough shifts and between 3-4 the engine revs before shifting up. The transmission was perfect before the sensor and catalitic replacement. What's up?

Rough shift
Sounds weird,
I think its a transmission control module electronic item, maybe the shift position sensor. Another idea is that that the oyrgen sensor wire and gear box are in close proximity, maybe the wire leads are off of the gear box.... just a thought..
