throttle body cleaning

every other fuel injected car i have ever owned since 1986 needed to have the throttle body cleaned periodically of carbon/varnish to keep that silky smooth throttle. looks like the throttle body on my v8 in WAY back there. any tips? thanks in advance.

I have never needed to clean one on a 112 or 113 engine. Only replaced a rare few. They just don't seem to get the carbon build up. On the other hand replacing the rubber seals on the intake ducting is a very good idea. They will be old and brittle, possibly leaking.
