Thanks again for your knowledge. I was afraid that trying to limp that bastard home and to the dealer was going to foul a cat due to unburned fuel from the down cylinder. You have eased my mind. 360glass, The cat replacement was probably due to a cracked weld, which is a common failure on these vehicles. We had ours replaced under warranty, which I am sure is 80k miles. I wouldn't associate it with the CEL. |

What I read applies to engines in MB model 163, and it does show an V-8. I am not sure I am interpreting this right. If you want I can email pdf file that contains literature.

The V6 is the M112, the V8 is the M113.
