Albany NY recommendations?

Recently purchased my first mercedes, a 1993 300E 2.8 from Florida and I love it!! I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations of a good indy mechanic in the capital district (doesnt have to be Albany, could be Schenectady, Troy or the suburbs). Thanks!

I'm looking for one myself in same area. I was referered to "German Auto Haus" in Burnt Hills. I have not tried them yet as I have been able to perform maintenance and repairs myself thus far.

M-B newbie in Troy has tried German ******** & Keeler for small stuff

Not much experience yet - drive 35 minutes up to Burnt Hills to have German ******** do the NYDMV inspection on our '87 300SDL, and have bought minor parts through Keeler Motorcar's M-B dealership parts dept.

The folks at German ******** seem reasonable, and their labor rates are $79/hour vs. $95 per hour at the dealership.

Travis (ext. 182) at the Keeler dealership parts department is competent and gets the whole customer service idea. I have scheduled a front end alignment with the Keeler M-B service dept. for next week ($119 + tax), and checked their price for mounting & balancing four new tires ($86 + tax). Both are a little on the high side in my experience, but then I'm a M-B newbie. Compared to their hourly rate, neither task price is very high.

Background: we bought our 300SDL from an owner in Florida earlier this month. 109k original miles, solid maintenance records, and a few known issues identified by an independent shop down there and incorporated into the sale terms.

Will let you know how the Keeler experience turns out, when I return from vacation mid-July.

Keeler experience was good

Keeler took care of everything I asked, and did it for slightly less than the quoted price, with the car 100% ready to go upon my return.

I will definitely use them again.

ABout 1/2 hour from Albany...

I recommend Hans Auto in New Paltz for all your German cars. They have been working on both the BMW and the Mercedes for a couple years now and I have found them to be honest very competent, reliable , and reasonably priced.

he is located at
251 State Route 32 South, New Paltz, NY 12561
Phone number' 845-255-8130

Hi all,
I always like to give credit when due. I rarely ever take my car to a shop, but I took it to ******** yesterday to loosen some suspension bolts that I could not get loose for the life of me.

First impressions: the show room is not huge but clean and inviting. After checking out the Testarossa and 993 Cab inside, the tech who was taking my car came out, introduced himself and asked about what I wanted done. After the car was on the lift I went out and pointed out the frozen bolts. This was a huge piece of mind as it ensured the ones I had already replaced and set at ride height would not have to be redone.

While the car was being wrenched on, I took a test drive in a 911 40th Aniv Edition I have been eyeing with no accompanying passenger.

My car was completed with no issues, no grease marks on the seats, steering wheel or door handles.

Craig (owner), Rob (sales), Frank (F Car tech) I found to be extremely personable and genuine car guys.

I should mention I have no personal/financial affiliation with the shop. I have just had too many bad experiences in the past, so when one goes this well it stands out.

Autobahn Centre' in Albany, NY does a good job. Typical old school shop but the guys are cool and the prices are way better than the dealer.
