Exclamation Fairfield County Mechanic (CT)

I am in need of a good mechanic (not the MB dealer)
to service and put on the road an 83' 380 sl with 66k.
It has been sitting for the last 3 years and only rarely driven.
Thanks

Looking for a good MB shop in CT., Manchester area

I tried several times to use the search feature. I typed in "Shops in CT" and it tells me that didn't meet the 3 word min. for a search. I then added "Good", but it gave me the same error message. Anyways, next Summer I will be moving back to CT, probably the Manchester area. Does anyone know of any good indy. shops out that way?

WARNING: Stay away from Nico's Foreign Car Service in Stamford, CT!!!

So this scum swaps the driver's seat with a used seat spring I bring to him (for $250) but when I pick up the car, there's a dent in the front fender. We both see my grey paint on the white jaguar parked next to my car and agree that it is their fault. So he tells me to take it to an auto body of his choosing and he will pay for it. The car, my beloved 1985 300SD, is fixed and the bastard is not paying the $350 cost. The auto-body wouldn't release my car! So NIco's finally pays me $150, chiseled the body shop down $50 and screws me out of the $150 I have to pay the body shop to get my car back! PLease STAY AWAY from the creep.

Bump. Come on there is no good MB shop in the Greater New Haven area? There is like a million MB around here there has to be at least one good shop.

Warning stay away from Mercedes Benz of Fairfield!!

This has to be one of the worse dealers in the US. I used to use their parts counter a lot and have probably spent $1k their in the past 6 months. But now they can't even get half of the parts I need! I wanted to get a few simple engine parts, first they ask for my vin? Vin I have never needed a vin to get any engine parts from any dealer before. But what ever I run outside and get the vin. I needed an oil filter, belt shock, and the two o-rings that are on the oil filter shaft. The oil filter was $1 more then what the dealer in West Haven charges me, and they couldn't get the o-rings!? For some reason his computer keep pulling up the oil filter canister from a 300D. He couldn't even look up the car without the vin. So now I have to drive to Mauro Motors in North Haven(these guys are great btw) and get those two stupid 50 cent o rings.

I went their to look at a car a few months ago and as soon as the salesman found out I wasn't going to buy it right then and their he became a complete a hole. me "is it a southern car" salesman "what do you care your not going to buy it"
This is just a warm up story, I could write a book about all of the crap I hear from these guys.

W140 S600 can fill you in on how they messed up his dads S600, they just found another part that they broke last weekend! The poor 600 is still recovering from these monkeys.

Stay away and save yourself a lot of money and agrivation! Mauro Motors is right up the line, they will treat you right.

Angry what a story

When my pop, first saw the S600, it was in februray of this year, it was at the lexus dealer in fairfield...came in as a trade-in, full records and all. We took a good look at it and then took it for a test drive...my pop fell in love with the unbelieveable smoothness of the v12. Before the car could be registered...the car had to go through an emissions test since it was a 9 year old car. When my pop went to pick up the car, he noticed something was not right, the car was shaking like a tuned big block and smelled like rotten eggs, not at all like it was supposed to be. My pop goes back to the lexus dealer and wanted the invoice of the work done on the car, they said they didnt have it because they brought it over the the mercedes dealer in fairfiield. So after about a week, he finally got the invoice...and suprised to see what was on it. It was riddled with falsifications. First, the most obvious was that out of all the parts replaced on the car, the total price of parts came to $0!!, it just documented the charges for labor. Second, the date on the invoice of when the work was performed was the monday my pop went to the dealer to ask for it. Third, it was stated that the passenger side egr valve was replaces TWICE!!! And finally they dumped a couple of bottles of fuel injector cleaner that mercedes specifically said not to use in the car!!!
So, my pop wanted the car the way it was supposed to be, so he went to mercedes of north haven and got the car checked out, they didnt find any stored codes but replaced a crushed vacuum line at no extra charge. It helped a little but the smoothness was all but gone...
The next week my pop brings the car back to the mercedes dealer in fairfield to get the car checked...and at the the desk with the team manager he wanted to ask him questions about the invioce...imidiately, he went on the defensive...he did want to talk about it nor did he know how the egr valve could be replaced twice. All he said was they put fuel injector cleaner and nother else, in direct view of the invoice. After they check out the car...they find out that the egr vavle was at fault. So in the end they didnt do any of the work they put on the invoice!!!
And just this past weekend, when changing the oil, we noticed that the rubber boot connecting the mass air flow sensor and the intake manifold had be broken...an $85 boot, a high quality boot!!...and since the fairfield dealer was that last ones to work on it, they were probably the ones to have broken it. the fairfield dealer is the worst one ive ever had contact with, and would recomend that EVERONE AVOIDS THEM!!!

Mercedes-Benz of North Haven is the place to go, aka Mauro motors! I just got back from them and their service was excellent. They also are cheaper then the Fairfield dealer! For example I paid #001-988-76-81 a small clip, I need a whole bunch of them. Fairfield charged me $.77 each and Mauro Motors charged me $.50! Now this is only a few cent part but it all ads up. I have been overpaying for a long time and am sick of it. I will be giving 100% of my business to Mauro Motors from now on.

You should report to MB North America for this kind "USED CAR DEALER SERVICE" I have only heard this kind of story from "Joe's Used Cars", never from any new car dealers, let alone a MB dealer. I would not let it rest. I strongly suggest that your dad should write to both the MB office and the local Fairfield Better Business Bureau!

I think Joe did report them to the BBB. I am voting with my money not to mention warning everyone I can about them. I am enjoying the better service and prices from Mauro Motors.

Maybe MB of North America would like to know about this.
