Mercedes Benz of Princeton

I've used this dealer for servicing my '84 300SD quite a few times over the years. They have a couple techs who are familiar with these diesels.

The good: They've done excellent work so far. They've fixed things right the first time, and I've never had to come back for the same problem. They would make an appointment usually within a couple days, and although usually you have to leave your car with them (since they don't always stock parts for these older Benzes), they usually have it back to you in a day or two, depending how big a job.

The bad: They charge $115/hr, and naturally they don't accept your own parts unless they are Mercedes-branded. Customer service seems very snobby. It's obvious from the demeanor of several service advisors that they don't really like to underwrite the older vehicles, and every time I bring it in for something, they never forget to tell me that due to the age and wear of the car, we might be opening a can of worms.

I've told myself time and time again that I'm going to stop coming there because I don't appreciate the snobby attitude of some service advisers there, but they do do excellent work, and that, to me, is #1. So I keep coming because I know what I'm getting for my money.

From my experience, the best service advisers there are probably Rich and Linda - they are courteous and friendly. Others - you're on your own. Haha.

You can live with snobery as long as they do honest good work. I would rather have that than a sweet-talker.

Labor rate at my dealer is getting close to $150 an hour, and indy's range from 70-90.
