Hi All,

I have read (a while back) in some MB forum that California cars have different parts because of emissions, and someone in another part of the US should consider avoiding them. Any truth to this? Any difference in performance or mpg? I found a good example '90 300SE but it is a California model. I am in the Northeast.

I’ve lived in various states and California the only difference that I saw was things on the cars had California certified stickers on some parts. Cars in ca can’t be smogged without the carb stuff. Other than that everything was normal


I’ve also never had a major problem bringing an out of state car to California. As long as all the factory stuff is there and it can pass a smog. One time they wanted me to put a new ca edition catalytic converter on at a price of $700
