Hey Kirk, are you swooning yet?

What a great and refreshing speech!

Ladies and Gentlemen... JOHN KERRY (roar of applause)

thank you.

thank you.

thank you

thank you, thank you

thank you so much

thank you

thank you

thank you

thank you so much

thank you

I almost fell asleep during the applause! CSPAN was simultaneously broadcasting the 2000 RNC, and if you switched over to Bush's speech just after Kerry finished, you got to do a nice compare/contrast of their visions for the USA. I'll take Kerry's.

It was dynamite. Kerry seems have to acquired a pair. Its about time. He needs to keep hammering those same themes. The right wing is currently cranking up the old Clinton-era smear machine, I've been watching Fox and Drudge working in concert on a smear all week that seems to have blown up in their face. They are just getting warmed up. They are looking for something like they did to McCain - a smear tag like "The Manchurian Candidate", or the "I invented the Internet" (Which Gore never said) smear. They've already tried to invent a Kerry "intern" scandal. This time, don't laugh nervously when the right wing pin heads at work chuckle over the latest incarnation of this stuff- FIGHT BACK!

Democrats everywhere need to be vocal with the truth, and to point out lies when they see them. If they sit back and let the disinformation operation ride right over them as they did when Gore ran, they will lose. If they get on forums, talk to their friends, call into to right wing talk shows and set the record straight, then they will win. Its time for Democrats to take out the Harry Truman rules. Give 'em hell.

You always say better in 1000 words what I try to say in a few.
That's a compliment BTW.

Kerry seems eager and optimistic - nice to see from a President.

He offered bush the highroad, less bickering and pessimism, im eager to see Bush's response.

They immediately posted a negative add on Fox.com. They may find there is a saturation point with the negative stuff - it only seems to be re-enforcing the Koolaid crowd, but the undecideds and wavers are not listening.

On an un-related note, I just donated some of my hard earned $$$ to John Kerry.

Hey, I just got 3 people under 25 to register to vote. I started carrying around the postcard forms. I get their email address an cell# to so I can bug them on Nov 2. Now if 100,000 of us do that, and we each get 10 people registered, thats 1,000,000 votes for Kerry.

Why would those be votes for Kerry? Have you been distributing Kool-aid along with those registration cards?

HomeRun, your pic in your signature is laughable. In that I mean, its perposterous. The only network that hasnt been fellating the Dems is Fox. Its why so many conservatives watch it. Being moderatly centrist or even slightly right-leaning will always seem drastically right when compared to a 70* listing to port of most of the major media stations (ABC, NBC, CBS, Communist News Network, etc).** JMHO. And before you flame me as a repub, know that I am not. I am a libertarian and have little love for Bush.

So, did Kerry actually say if he was for anything and clarify his positions? I had to work. The only thing I have to go on about him is his record and past television excerpts, and frankly, he terrifies me. Bush merely scares me. Your Mileage May Vary.

**Nothing like my own bias showing.

moparman, the repubs have been taking guys like you for chumps for years. Fox doesn't offer news, its a 24hr commercial for the Republican Party. While they get you all excited about gays, public prayer and "big government democrats" and any other hot button emotional issue that in the end doesn't mean diddly squat, they and their corporate boys are taking you for a ride and sticking you with the bill. If Kerry terrifies you as I assume, some big socialist, you need to take a look at what government is doing under the Repubs.

So, the solution is to put a tax and spend liberal in office?

I will ask you again Kirk, how much government is too much? How much of YOUR income are you going to allow them to steal from you before YOU finally cry fowl?
