New NASCAR points system
What do you think about the new way NASCAR is going to determine their champion this year? Personally I do not like it at all. Now that it starts next week with the top ten drivers for the last ten races I hope that someone out of that top ten wins every race.

I know it's unconventional, but it will really play up the chase for the title. Unfortunately, that is what NASCAR believes will sell tickets and make money. By the way,,, my money is on Gordon.

Looks like NASCAR is looking like a genius right now, as 4 drivers still have a legitimate shot at the title with only 2 races to go. Should generate a lot of interest/money for all concerned.

I still don't like it. It seems that there is not enough emphasis on winning. To me the best driver should be the one with the most wins. More points spread should be given between 1st and 2nd in each race. The way I see it second place in Nascar is the first loser. Go to Yahoo sports and read Jonathan Baum's column. Look at the full season stats, 1st place driver has 3 wins, 2nd place 5 wins, 3rd place 6 wins, 4th place 7 wins. Seems to me like something there is just not right.
Hey what do I know though, maybe its just not politically correct for the person with the most wins to be number one. Have a wonderful day and do something good for someone you do not know. |
