Does anyone miss Hockey?

Not me. I don't care for the unsportsmanlike conduct. Having two guys beat the crap out of each other and then confining them for two minutes isn't my idea of a sport. But hey, that's just my opinion.

OTOH, since when has Poker become a sport? Sometimes it's on ESPN and FOXsports at the same time. They could at least show Lacrosse.

I find watching any sport on TV is boring. I'll watch just about any sport in person, though, and enjoy it. And playing is even better.

weighing in from north of the border.

missing it? yeah, but then I've missed it the past several years as its become a shadow of itself anyway. the guys beating the crap out of each other thing is getting old since its as contrived as wrestling, fighting in the sport was supposed to be one of those incidental things that was accepted since it made for a good pressure valve in a fast and tough sport. The staged stuff has to go. I'm against organizations of any kind but a union of sorts to protect average salaries of 2,000,000 seems greivously wrong. Love the game as much as my children which is why I don't want the NHL back till they have everything fixed. Contract the league by 6 teams redistibutr the good players dump the goons and bring on the speed.

Then we got a game.

It's hockey season?.... I had no idea!

Seriously, I don't follow any sports. I'd rather watch a tree photosynthesize.

Auto racing is about as close as I come to watching a sport of any kind.

The poor downtrodden owners and players aren't making enough money for promoting and playing a game. That translated into a lockout.

Heck no! I wouldn't pay $300 to go to a game, hate watching sports on TV, and can't stand all the prima-donna players anyway.

There is terrific amateur and semi-pro hockey for those that want to watch.

And best of, if you really love hockey, get yer ass off the couch and go play it.

If the NHL folds and never returns, I couldn't care less.

We tried hockey out here, but there were just too many drownings.

Actually, there is a skating rink and a league that ex-patriate snowbirds play in.

Hockey is a terrific game to watch and play.
Its too bad greedy owners and players have to spoil the game for the fans.

I really, really miss the hockey season. It is the only sport I watch religiously. This lockout is terrible.
While I don't particularly agree with the salaries that any professional athletes recieve, I think if anyone earns their money, it's hockey players. There is another thread on this forum that states that hockey is the second or third most difficult sport to play, according to sports illustrated, I think. Also, considering the risk of injury factor (the Lindros brothers' concusion riddled careers are a perfect example) they should be paid way more than baseball or basketball players, but they are not.

One good thing is that some NHL players are now playing in the AHL, and the tickets are cheaper. I hope they are back for next season, I miss my Isles!

Don't miss it at all. I don't like the trend the game is taking anyway.

May as well just get all the players on the ice at once, ref drops the puck, players drop their gloves and go at it. Last player standing wins the game. Why bother with the silly chasing of the puck at all? It's such a nuisance. The goalies can be the wildcards, swinging their goalie sticks like scythes for that added drama. At the end of the season, the last player standing that can skate between the blue lines wins the Cup. Forget all that 7-game playoff crap. The replay cams can focus in on the particularily good nose bleeds and blood sprays instead of those silly goal-line analyses.

I'm with Mike Mover on this one. Must be a musician thing, I don't watch sports on TV at all really.
