I'm Thankful No One Was Hurt In the Explosion

Let me preface this by stating that I did not marry my wife for her cooking skills. That said this is a serious post and did actually happen today.
One of the dishes my wife was making was a Sweet Potato Casserole. A lot of time and ingredients went into it. Well, she had baked it and removed from the oven to to cool. She placed it on the cooktop to cool, not realizing that the surface was still hot from numerous other dishes prepared there. She went in the living room and was sitting on the sofa with her chihuahua watching the Macy's Parade, I was on the patio grilling the turkey..... and BOOOM!!!! The dang thing EXPLODED!! Not cracked, exploded! Glass and tater was flung everwhere. Up to 12 feet away from the cooktop!! Heckofa mess, but thankfully no one was in the kitchen at the time!!

Now, you all know that I would not capitalize on a situation like this. I felt obligated to issue safety glasses to our guests as they arrived!!!
