Any Tivo lovers here?

I spent the day upgrading my 4 Tivo units and learned ton's along the way. I solidified my love for Linux and hate for IDE cables.

I used a new software utility call instantcake, it works wonders and triples the speed of the drive image process.

If any forum members are intested in upgrading their tivos let me know.

I love using my TiVo, but I can't muster the love for spending time hacking my TiVo.

If you use instantcake it only takes a few minutes per unit and since you have linux and computer experience I'd bet that you can do the whole job in less than a hour.

If you want have a HD drop shipped to me and I'll intsall the hacks and software.

Tivo is the best thing since sliced bread.

But what is the deal with the pop up adds. I read something a few weeks back that indicated that Tivo would be sending pop up adds through the system when people fast forward through the adds.

Anyone hear anything about this?

Does anyone here use Tivo with VIOP? I'd like to get it but have not found one that supports Tivo or a work around. Any ideas?

Thanks for the reference. I'm unclear on the utility of this product. Is it used when replacing the TiVO hard drive? Or ???

Cool. We have an old Tivo. What's involved in plugging a lan/internet connection? It would be great to get the programming guieds from the web. The device doesn't have a NIC or connector, just a flakey modem.

For series 1 you need a turbo net card, available for weakknees, or 9th tee.
