Umm yeah, but can we still have our weed back if you find it?

I just looked in the dictionary under "clueless" and their pictures were there.

When I was a kid in the 70's a pound of weed sold for about $100. Last I heard a few years back, it is now aound $1000. I have no idea what it goes for now, but one must say, that is pretty good price appreciation. I must say one of the golden ages of my life was in the days before what marijiuana actually looked like was well known by the squares - in those wonderful days in Texas, one could happen upon a wild patch glimpsed on a drive down a country road, or perhaps return to a railroad trestle where one had once cast his seeds to chance, and end up with Hefty bags full of the sweet leaf. Alas no more.

Of course we're talking hypothetically here, right?

I was actually recounting a story a friend told me. During the 70s, I was actually heavily involved with my monastic studies.

This back in the day when the rest of us were told to enter Texas, Wyoming, etc. at the risk of our very lives...

One had to develop a certain type of local personna to avoid the police. A pickup truck and a proper hat came in handy.

I am so sick of hearing people rag on and on about Texas. I am a fourth generation Texan and I see nothing of inferior intelligence about Texans. I mean look our old governor is now president of the united states for not just one but two terms, just as he was gov. here in Texas. He must be a real bright man to pull offf such a political history as this.
We are home to the Enron scandal, and we are so forgiving that it looks like most of the execs. will go unpunished. I would say that we are indeed very forgiving but then I remember we hold the record for killing the inmates of our prisons. Ah well, we are a trendsetter for the united states. For all the good and BADDDD that represents.

You mean you remember the good ol' days when a "dime bag" really did cost a dime?

No doubt -- a large hat capable of hiding 2-3 ft. long hair would come in quite handy from time to time...

Actually, long hair was pretty acceptable in Texas at that time, unlike the rest of Old Dixie. A lot of the cowboys affected the long hair style of the Old West. Even beads and such were ok, as long as they had some turquiose in them. To melt into the Texas landscape really requires only three things - with the proper hat, boots and a truck and even Jimi Hendrix would look like a Texan. Marijuana usage was also an established habit there as well, long before the arrival of the hippies, and there was a lot of interest in some of the more exotic uses of the flowers of cow and buffalo $hit.

I had a couple of good friends from Houston back then (classmates at CU), and they were both long-haired burnouts. They said they were fine as long as they stuck close to Houston, but much of the state was to be avoided if they valued theri health.....
