My band on the radio!

Needed to share my good fortune (or just brag a bit...whatever ). So we're playing a show with a pretty huge "jam band" (our style of music) and our local rock station (WXRT) and Miller are sponsering it. Because of this, we are getting a little bit of play as well as a 30 second ad that's playing once an hour all week. Exciting stuff. My boss even put the station on at work on the P.A. (not what you normally hear at a Mercedes dealership).

WXTR huh? Wow, that's Big Time!!! I'm impressed. I am down in Charleston, IL... get up to the Big City and listen to XRT once in a while.

Congrats!

I don't know if it's ok to plug a site or not, but I have lots of clips and pics on my website. Click on www.herbaljazzcigarettes.com.

Gilly, go ahead and remove this if it is a conflict of interest.

Who knows? It would be incredible if something like that happened. I love my job and all, but...

We don't really play the kind of music that your average high school age kid is out buying right now, so it would be more of an underground thing were we to actually move beyond the boundries of our fair midwest.

We toured around a bit last summer, but it's hard to convince the brass to give you a month off to go play wannabe rock star. My agent tells me we could be getting some face time with the other bands representation, which would really help to move the process along.

Many thanks. The Scarlett Begonias we do with the sax player (who had never even met two of the members of the band before he got on stage with us) is WAY out there. Definatately indicative of the state of elevation the band hypothetically was in during that show.

Yeah, the show is tonight. I was like a kid waiting for Santa Claus last night. Went to bed at like 9 (very un-rock star behavior, I know). Hopefully all goes well. I'm going right from my office to sound check. I've got a new guitar tech tonight so I hope all my gear gets set up properly. Left explicit instructions with my gear. The other guitar player knows my setup pretty well, so he may have to do some hand holding. Got to stop at a gas station or something to change on the way. No one wants to see a lead singer walk in in a DKNY 3-piece. Got an image to uphold here.

Again thanks to everyone for the support. This is such a cool deal for me and I'm glad I could "share with the group" so to speak.

Cool, I'm busting out of the office early (as in right now) to go up and start the sound check. I'm cranked up to 11 right now. Wish me luck.
Peace.
