Rover P5.......anyone know these cars?

I'm interested to know if anyone here has any knowledge about Rover P5 touring saloons, circa 1958 to 1967.

My older brother had a 62 Rover P5, back in 1969. It was british racing green, had a really nice interior with leather seats. Instruments were centered in a single pod in front of the big steering wheel. It had a unique floor shifter that looked more like it belonged in a truck. The car had a lot of classy style! One thing that still stands out in my mind was a unique tool tray that pulled out from under the dash with fine quality tools neatly stowed in cut foam rubber for each of the tools.

Over the years, I've only seen one since my brother's P5, and it was for sale, but I didn't have the money! That was 25 years ago, and I haven't seen one since, other than one I saw in Hemmings for sale a few years ago but by then, I had already caught the Benz bug!

I'd like to own one someday, and would like to learn more about these cars. Currently, I'm waiting for a response for an email Rover news letter I sent this evening, but was just wondering if anyone here has had any experience with Rover cars? BB

BB, never owned one but I know they're big, heavy and they rust, rust rust. They are also pretty in a Churchillian way (they were used as diplomatic cars in UK).
