the claim to fame of in-n-out is that the beef is never frozen, potatoes are cut into fries at each location as needed etc. with that being said i thought i would let you know how good these burgers really are! my wife works in a shipping store (a private version of mailboxes etc., ups store et al ) she has customers order burgers and fries to send out to their friends fed-ex next day air. iguess even a day old and cold they are better than what people can buy locally!

We're a bit "chain burger resturant" deprived out here. No Fudruckers (nice one on Rt 22 in NJ); no Red Robin (awful service in Clifton); no In-Out; no Sonic; no White Castle . . .
But, in Lahaina there's the original "Cheeseburger In Paradise"; on the North Shore, Ku Aina Burger; and in Honolulu, Ted's Better Burgers, to satsify that urge for grilled ground beef. |
Ok, after reading all of the posts to this thread, my mouth has begun to water like it has never watered before... ((oddly enough im making a burger for dinner) but Im tempted to run to In-n-out and get a double double animal style..... THE BEST fast food burger Ive had.
Also, when i was in Austin Texas this summer, my friend took me to Smithville, a little town maybe 45minutes to an hour or so away from Austin to go to a rib house that he claimed to have THE BEST ribs..... and i would have to agree!!!!!! I dont recall the name of the place, buts its in Smithville on the right hand side of the main road into town, after you go over a bridge. If you EVER find yourself here, treat yourself to some Ribs.. you WONT regret it! |
How close to the water tower would you say this joint is? Unless Randy of Greg are now gonna tell me they took down the big silver Smithville water tower.
|
Mike,
The tower is still there. Next time I'me heading that way, I'll do a "rib recce" by going through Smithville on Business 71 instead of around. |
In and Out Burgers are good not great. A real gourmet burger is on a toasted sourdough roll, with thick sliced smoked bacon, real jack cheese(pepper jack even better), and choice of veggies, with your choice of condiments on the table- A1 Sauce, Tobasco, and maybe some brown deli mustard. The fries at In and Out are soggy and wimpy, yuch! Not cooked untill crispy enough.

Frequent visitor to In-N-Out land, gotta agree they make the best fast food burgers. Sure wish they'd expand operations to the right coast, so that I could enjoy them locally!
That said, I have never, ever, found a better burger joint that the Chuckbox in Tempe, AZ. The "Big Juan" (named for the cook - sheesh, I couldn't make up a name like that if I tried) has set the Burger Gold Standard for me. LOL |
