College Football Bowl Games

ROSE BOWL

Texas 38 Michigan 37

What a game, best from the Rose Bowl in years...Great Texas Win..QB Vince Young MVP..played outstanding...He looked like another Michael Vick.

Michigan, What can I say you played wonderful..deserving to be in the Rose Bowl, the ball just didn't bounce their way in the end.

The question asked all week, was...Does Texas deserve to be in the Rose Bowl? What do you think?

Yes i'm biased towards Texas. I also think the BCS is messed up... Cal deserved BCS Bowl.

That was a very exciting game, but sort of frustrating too.

Michigan's decision to _not_ go for it on 4th down and to settle for a field goal got them exactly what they deserved: a loss. It was obvious that Texas had enough time to work with and that Texas _would_ take the ball down for at least a field goal if they didn't turn it over.

I'm also thinking that the BCS system doesn't always focus on which teams are the best. That's OK; it's not about winning, it's about advertising dollars.

Did either defense show up for this game? Michigan had a shot at the end- had been cruising all day long- but just didn't get the ball back. Bad use of time-outs by big M when they needed it most in the last 2 min.

Texas would have been in sad shape with that defense against the best of the best. I'd have liked to have seen Utah v. texas; Pitt was horrible.

Yeah, your right, I'm not sure why Michigan didn't use those time outs during Texas final drive. Could have left them with 25-30 seconds left with the ball and with the way Michigan had been taking the kickoffs back to mid field. makes you wonder.

Yes, BCS is messed up....it's got change or GO!

Anyone that can beat Michigan deserves to play and beat them IMO. I'm sure LLoyd is making similar excuses today.

BCS is just plain BS as far as I'm concerned. Don't see how you can name a national champion unless all contestants face the same opponents during the year. Obviously this isn't possible. They should go back to the old bowl game criteria and forget the current fiasco. Let everybody who believes they are #1 proclaim it! I don't need a computer and a bunch of talking heads and sports writers deciding who I should believe is the best.

No, I don't have any axe to grind nor is this sour grapes. I just like to see good college football played, including all the mistakes, one game heroes, coaches getting doused, etc. The current system puts too much pressure on players, coaches and recruiting. I haven't done a study on it, but I bet the firing of coaches has gone way up with the BCS system.

just my $.02,
Wes
