Tech Gurus: Ethernet Cable Question

I am going to be using high-speed internet via ethernet in my hotel room later this week. I want to buy an ethernet cable before I leave so I don't have to pay triple for the one in the minibar. I'm confused as I think there are two types of ethernet cables -- when I went to buy one for my printer a few mos. ago I apparently got the wrong one and had to go back. Can anyone tell me for a laptop to hotel room connection for internet access what kind/type/characteristics of cable should I be looking for?

N.B. My PowerBook has a 10-100 BASE-T port.
