Question Servo

I have heard this mentioned in MB discussions. Please enlighten me on what it is.................I believe it has something to do with the cooling/heating. I plead the 5th on what I do not know about these wonderful vehicles. I own two..........1978's 280SE/CE.

Thanks!

Or it could be the vaccum activated device that opens and closes the ventilation flaps in the climate control system . . .

Probably the evil type II climate control servo: http://skinnerbox.steaky.org/Service/W123/w123CD2/Program/Climate/83-600.pdf

The servo typically sits in the engine compartment on the passenger side up near the RF headlight, at least it does on my '78 300D.
