Spock get beamed up?
Do any of you remember someone that used to post here named "Spock"? What happened to that guy? Did Captain Kirk finally beam him up or was he banned?
|
He pretty much voluntarily stepped out sometime last summer I think it was. Had a difficult time with some of the others here, and decided forums weren't working for him. A good guy(to me), but had a few people issues.

All 17 of his online personnas were banned -- quite a while ago...
|
Alternate personae shouldn't be encouraged...mostly.
|
I got a PM from Spock just before he said goodbye in which he said he was pursuing other adventures and would no longer be posting. Whenever a new guy comes into existence I look for Tribbles. I'm betting he'll come back under yet another name.
I never had a problem with Sybil-ing. To me it's kind of amusing. IMO, I don't know which of you is real and really don't care. It seems kind of weird to me to invest so much concern into something that has no certainty. |
I liked Spock.....................but lost his email when my old computer crashed in the worst way possible.
|
There is one member currently that I am 90% sure is Spock. I'm not making my assumption on his topics... just the writing style, but the topics posted also makes me think its him.
|
It seems to me that Spock had some sort of breakdown. He went from what seemed a very active, fairly harmless poster to something very different almost overnight. He was banned after he somehow managed to hijack another member's identity with some really vile posts, then attacked the victim of the hoax with two of his online personas. It was bizarre. At least four Spockian personas were banned immediately. He came back as sp0ck for a while, but the lighthearted tone of his earlier personas was replaced by something quite different. I liked the first Spock. He will always be remembered as bard-ii and the king of PMs...

I liked Spock a lot too, but agree with Germanstar that his posts became less whimsical or fun in nature as time went on. Good guy, though.

I think you guys are on to something here.
1. It's pathological. Some peculiar twist in his mind became more torqued over a very few months and then, totally severed. 2. He really was a multiple person. That is, his personae were intentinally accessible to several people. In the first case, I wish him well. In the second case, I wish them well. |
Spock always reminded me of the work Testa di Medusa by Caravaggio (which, was a self-portrait, even though Medusa was a she and Caravaggio was a he)....
|
Okay, that made me laugh!!
