"Emissions" are non issues with just about all of non-tube type monitors including LCD, Plasma, etc. I know in Western Europe, this "emissions" stuff (I think it's magnetic field emissions and X-ray emissions) is kind of big but is there even one example where someone actually got hurt from CRT monitors, or TVs which is basically the same thing?

You are concerned about emissions... what emissions? X rays? Magnetic fields emitted by current flowing through internal circuitries? There are also 3 types of emissions that ocurrs from radiating body. Electromagnetic fields that are induced, electromagnetic fields that are radiated, and electrostatic fields. They are all electromagnetic emissions but are of different characteristics and will impact human body differently. Also, they dissipate at different rates. First is cube of the distance, second is square of the distance, and the third is the distance. Then at what wavelength? X rays and 60Hz are both electromagnetic energy but with different frequencies. They impact human body differently. Heck, the light wave is an EMF (electromagnetic field)....

In LCD monitors, the only part that can generate appreciable amount of field energy is perhaps the power supply for the backlight. They often use EL plate and they require 50 volts or higher. Everything else is pretty much 5 volts or 12 volts driven.

Oh, by the way, you have wires runnining all around you in the house, motors running in the A/C units, and the PC itself will produce EMF. These days, they are mostly made of plastic and not at all well-shielded.
