German Heavy Metal

I picked up my second German Heavy Metal CD a couple of weeks ago. Great stuff for the rockers in the group.

I cannot understand the lyrics, but the music is dark, gritty, and deep. The group and album? Rammstien Rise Rise.

My first one was a freebie that was acquired during my stint as a car hauler when I drove trucks. Vehicles cannot have any stuff left in them for shipping overseas, and the owner never claimed their stuff after sitting around in the shop for two months. It was called Icht Tel (sp?) Nicht Meir. Not nearly as good, but still fun to play every now and again.

Anybody else have any good German titles?

Rammstein..

Laibach is another heavy metal/industrial group that uses German as a primary language, but are actually from Slovenia.

Einsturzende Neubauten (Collapsing New Buildings) is a more experimental sort of industrial group.

Kraftwerk is a German group who are considered the creators of techno. Most songs upbeat and happy.

And for a detour out of Germany, get the techno song Maj 2003 by Polish artist Manieczki. Its some of the greatest, most different techno I've heard.

Rammstein also has a great stage act, particulary the moment when the lead singer is set on fire Very dark, ominous music. Their CDs should be played VERY loud. The best know rockgroup from Germany are the Scorpions, of course

[Yo Lebenz: congratulations with Bode... Cann't see anybody keeping him off the Gold next year in Turin, maybe Raich or Rocca at the Slalom. Great athlete.]

Hehehe, I'm going to have to rebuild the speakers at home before I can do that one. One of the speakers diaphrams are ripped, and too much bass makes for a NASTY sound.

Hopefully, they'll do a tour stateside. That's one great thing about satellite radio. I doubt there is any FM station out there, that is giving this group airplay in the US. I never knew Rammstein existed untill XM's Squizz started playing Mein Teil.

XM is the reason why I'm once again buying CD's. So far I've bought Lacuna Coil's Comalies, UPO's The Heavy, Lazyboy TV, and the Rammstein CD that made me think of posting this thread. Great stuff that I would have never even heard of if it weren't for XM.

When I want to push my diesel to the limit I play Rammstein...

DAF, another early eighties German techno band is a good one, very German.

college stations and some alternative ones play them and others... the alt. station we had was awesome.. played all kinds of stuff and even head a deadhead 2hours on sunday nights but, they were making money so got bought out and now the format is soda and it sucks...

libraries are pretty good sources of music you've never heard...

btw. vronsky, there are other skiers on this board...

If you also enjoy techno, the German group Das Modul is good stuff too.

Close Rick

Funker Vogt

Its some sort of slang in the German army Bundesewher or however it is spelled...

Funker is like a slang for Radio Operator, and Vogt is the last name...

Good hardcore stuff.
