Exclamation CHINA - who writes their product manuals

I made an impulse purchase this weekend while browsing Harbor Freight - A 50’ flat garden hose made out of cloth. These are the ones that look like a miniature fire hose.
Being a safety conscious person I read the “Warning and Precautions” enclosed with the hose. Some common sense things but some don’t appear to be applicable. Remember this is a Garden Hose.
-Dress Properly; Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry as they can be caught in moving parts. Wear restrictive hair covering to contain long hair.
-Avoid Electrical Shock – DO NOT use this product around water.
-Do not operate this hose if under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
-Always hold hose firmly. Never let go of hose when under pressure. Serious personal injury or property damage may result.
-Stay alert. Watch what you are doing, use common sense. Do not operate hose when you are tired.
-Maintenance For your safety, maintenance should be performed regularly by a qualified technician. (guess I need a hose forum)

and…….. This product contains a chemical know to the State of California to cause birth defects (or other reproductive harm) Do any of the other states know?

As ridiculous as some of those may sound, at least it seems as if the manual was properly translated and grammatically edited for content!

I gotta pull out my pocket bike instruction manual...it's hilarious!

As more products are exported from China, there should be a demand for individuals who can properly translate instructions!

Hmmmm...a niche market?

My cousin's BB gun's instructions were pretty funny. I can't remember them all, but according to the manual, to chamber a BB you: "Pull back the cock-bolt until "ka" sound assured."

Last year I bought a set of magnifiers from Harbor that are worn over the head and in front of the eyes. There are velcro straps that allow infinite adjustment, even for big heads and big hairs like me. They're great for close-in work because you can keep both hands free and you get stereo vision all with 10-15x magnification.

The label identified them with the highly descriptive, "Magnifying Sticky Buckle Head-Wearing Tape."

Co-workers and I laughed until we realized we didn't have a better description. I'm betting they translated using Babelfish.com.

Some excerpts from my pocket bike instruction manual...

...on safety...

Who ride this scooter should have good eyesight, and has the ability to operate dependently.

Do not operate this scooter after drinking or having taken any medicine which is of hypnogenesis.

Do not run too fast when turning.

Do not touch the engine or the muffler during operating as they may turn very thermal.

...on maintenance...

The grinding-in is very import to the engine.

Once there is any problem, checked and repaired by specifically maintenance man.
