W115 in Commercial

Hey guuys-

Im lookin for a link to an MB commercial that featured a w115- it followed the life of the car, and at the end it was re-incarnated as a new C-class.

I have searched high and low on the forums, and havent found an actual link, although I believe I clicked a link somewhere on this forum a couple of months ago that led me to this commercial.

Any info/help greatly appreciated!

Is this the one where it's purchased new by a family back in the 70's with the camera vantage point from behind the seat and follows all the owners/drivers to current time when it meets the crusher?

yeah thats exactly the one I am looking for. Its gotta be online somewhere!
What a cool commercial. Too bad it gets crushed! They should have made the commercial for the Classics Center, than it could have been restored by them and parked next to a new MB (just to make it a little more relevant).

I remember that commercial, it almost made me cry. That was back when I had two W115 cars.

I saw that commercial online in rough .mov format off someone's http directory. I didn't recognize it as a w115 at the time...scary because it's a white w115 too as I recall....the car I own now. Strange. I might have it on one of my computers. I'll let you know if I find it.

I think the most destructive ad was the ML class in the crash testing lab synched to Bee Gees I never would have guessed that MB would use their songs in a car ad.

That commercial saddened me, and then made me mad. I was going to write an angry letter in big red bold font to MB, accusing them of codoning the crushing of W115s, but I chose not to. I believe in order to do the commerical correctly, they should have used a W201 instead. The W115 is the 1968-1976 equivalent of today's E-class, not the C-class.

I just viewed that other one, hadn't seen it before. Have you got a link to "Faithful"? Man, if I show enough of these to my wife, she may let me take a wall out for the SDL!

My personal favorite is the crash test of the G-class where it runs through all the walls in the building and the researcher and everyone else whose offices got run through are all looking through the hole. First time I saw that I laughed so hard...

Thanks
David
