Anyone ever hear of this rally?

The Ultimate Rally - Summer 2006

To the best drivers on earth,

The Ultimate Rally is the world championship of street racing.
7 days, 3000 miles, 200mph and US$ 2 million prize money.

Are you a brilliant driver with a powerful car?
Would you like to drive against the best of the best?
Will you be the star in our "USD 5 mio" cinema movie?

See our terms & conditions and apply here:
http://www.*************.com/application.html

Join the drivers at our official Forum:
http://board.*************.com

Win a Porsche 911 Turbo + free Ultimate Rally entry:
http://www.cafepress.com/urally

See you in August 2006,
Ultimate Rally HQ

Sounds like a scam to me.

Jeez, $30k...and I thought Gumball Rally at $12k was expensive.

At least if you crash your Enzo they'll have a spare car waiting at the next checkpoint for you. Hmm....either the Yugo or the Trabant

It's being organized by Kim Schmitz www.kimble.org a jailed hacker and insider trader. I can't argue with the guys lifestyle though. I'd do a couple years to pull one off like he has.

Why do you think it's a scam? Have you heard of the Gumball 3000? The guy wins or comes in near the top almost every time. If he pulls it off the video is going to be awesome. I am going to enter one of these things at some point. In the Gumball you don't win anything but the experience is worth it.

I thought it was a scam because I got it in a PM on this forum:
http://www.carreview.com/defaultcrx.aspx
It is no MS shop.

It would be fun to enter, if I could afford to I would. I would enter a sleeper car that would be comfortable to do 3k miles in. S65 AMG black on black with black Brabus wheels. I'd rig up another gas tank in the trunk for a longer range as well. With a full rader/laser detector/jammer package. Without the restricter that V12 should be able to drag that sedan to the door of 200mph.

The only rally I've enjoyed taking part in was the FIVA world rally in '96,perhaps on account of the social reject iron I drive.

Well at the time it wouldn't

I bet she would have issues with you racing across the country, going from party to party and finishing @ the Playboy Mansion.

My wife would have a problem with it if i told her about it.

My GF agreed to go on a stunt like this provided she had 2 requirements, 1. Had a McLaren F1 to drive and 2. She got to drive it

I saw some of the past videos and those cars were seriously trashed. I think one of the worst that survived was an F50 with a completely sandblasted front end

A friend of mine spoke to one of the Gumballers last year at one of the hideout LA garages to evade police. (and party at the Playboy mansion) Apparently when the group was in Texas, a state trooper or policeman stopped one car and said..."I am going to cut you a deal....want a ride and I want to see 200mph on that speedometer, if you can break 200 i'll let you go". Whether that story is it's true or not is debatable...but hey would you turn down their offer
