My 1st MB,,1990 300d 2.5

Hellooooooooo,
Just purchased 3 days ago,,It has 187,000 miles,,,,runs perfect and in excellent shape. Anything special I should do or know to keep it running?????

Congratulations on your purchase! Use the search feature here for info on your make and any problems. Also look over at the tech help section. It'll help a lot.

Congrats on your purchase. Make sure you visit the diesel discussion section, OFTEN. If you post stuff here in open discussion about your car it may go almost unnoticed.

I had one and it was the best car I owned. I still work on them all the time 124.128 with the 602.962 motor. Let me know if you have any questions.

change the oil and filter and do so regularly. If you have positive confirmation that the PO was consistent and on top of it, keep doing it. If not, start doing it asap.

Another vital bit is to make sure that your antifreeze isn't green. Mercedes insists on using special stuff. The result is worth it.

Lastly, start reading. There is TONS of stuff here and at the other benz oriented web sites. That 2.5 is an awesome motor. Far better than the 6 cylinder POS's they made around the same time.
