I bought a 20 oz. bottle of Techron on 7/6/05 at my local Poop-boys and mailed in the $3 rebate form exactly how instructed to on the card. I received the envelope back today marked "box closed unable to forward" by the PO. There is a toll free number on the form but it just rings twice and stops.

The rebate had no expiration date and I don't know how old it was but it is maddening to have this happen. I'll take it down to poop-boys later and talk to the manager, I am sure he'll hand me the $3, still, it's a waste of my time!

I noticed on the internet someone else experienced the same thing on a website called "closed boxes". It's a site where people post their experiences with bad offers like this. So, beware of Chevron...I guess $2.50 a gallon for gas is not enough for them, they have to steal my $3 too.

Does the FTC have something to say about that? I remember a big stink about a year or two ago about rebates not being paid...I think CompUSA was in the middle of it somehow.

Incidently I found the Techron stuff about worthless.....I used it every other tank and developed serious intake valve carbon buildup on my saturn...something they are known for doing....and was cured for 30K miles with one can of BG44K.....at the dealers recomendation.....

I never bought another gas additive after that...

receive your rebate.

So, if anyone else out there has had this experience you should be able to collect.
