If the choice for the soldiers is open-fire with machine guns or give the folks a hot-foot, I guess a hot-foot is better. I remember when the microwaves first came out (called-em radar ovens). Some engineers promoted the idea of microwave heating of the household. It would turn-on when you enter the room and irradiate you like in the oven. You get warm but don't waste time heating the air and furniture. Hate to have it run-amuck though. |

Anyone ever see "Real Genius" with the popcorn event and the B1 Bomber mounted laser
I wouldn't want to be one of the operators of that machine. The radiation exposure would be minimal at best. Perhaps it could be remote controlled with a butter dispenser for a military sponsored recruiting drive in movie event |

It’s a first generation phaser!
Give 'em a few years and it'll be the size of a cell phone, with settings for stun, roast and dehydrate, and vapor

The Chinese might try to reverse engineer it since I heard that their "Wok-Fi" device was not proving to be effective.

I definitely wouldn't get laughed at carrying that thing around for 12 decibels of signal
Then again if you're a chef it might be entirely practical. |

I wonder if this thing is the first step in moving energy wirelessly like Mr. Tesla originally conceived.

I think this thing could be very useful in Iraq because the insurgents don't care it they die but they hate pain without the hopes of seeing Allah.
