Best Mercedes news heard in a long time...
Heard and read yesterday that 'Jerkin Shrimp' or Juergen Schremp, aka the current leader of D/B, has told the board that he will leave at year's end. He was asked by many at the last stockholders meeting to step down which he ignored and didn't see the light! Maybe with his exit Mercedes can get their quality control back where it used to be many years ago. They have lost many loyal customers over the years and their handling/lying scheme of the Chrysler takeover has left a sour note here in the states. Maybe a new direction of D/B will start in 2006 or at least hope so.
Would love to hear more opinions to this thread.... TobiasMB 190/5.8 |

Schremp doesn't design the cars, so I can't imagine any real difference in MB design/execution.
What does anybody really think will happen now that he's gone?

Things were good, then he came along, then things sucked.

Well I think it's a little more complicated than that. Enviromental concerns played a role (wiring harness, crappy paint, etc.) and Schremp had much stiffer competition than his predecessors (big BMWs, lexus, acura, infiniti, Audi). The digital age also forced MB to play the same gadget game that audi and BMW were playing.
Also, considering MB sold more cars under schremp than they previously did, some might consider Juergen's reign successful. I think the next big obstacle for MB (and everyone else, including owners) will be OBDIII.

It just makes people feel better to have a place to point fingers
I do think that this Zeitsche guy is pretty good, he made chrysler better than Benz, and apparently hes taking over. We'll see... and according to the other post, the stock shot up something fierce, like 9 or 10 percent, just when this guy announced his resignation. OBDIII... It's scary to think that will be the future of cars, but most people dont care. and probably support it because the onstar. |
