r-12 freon prices...

hi guys,

i have read several posts on the internet sites on various message boards, stating that the price of R-12 freon is now just about cheaper than R-134.
I have not found this to be true at all.

R-134 sells for about 7.00 a can in my local auto store.., R-12 sells for about 22.00 a can on ebay, and every place else I can find it.

Has anyone found R-12 (not replacement r12) anywhere for less ?

thanks,
Kevin

If you have a license, you can buy R-12 for $15.00 per pound, if you buy 30 lb. of it. Naturally, the small cans are much more costly.

like i had said..

15.00 a pound is not a good deal to me..., that is when you have to buy 30 of them.. i don't need 30 pounds.. just 3.

the 134 is still cheaper.

i have seen many posts on the internet message boards stating that r12 is now at the same price or less than r134, and i have not found that to be true.

Inscribed in the temple of Apollo at Delphi: "Nothing in excess"

135.5 pounds of R-12: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=7998067584&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT
