Jerry Maguire Movie Question

three questions actually.

1. after he lost his job, why did he start dressing like a bum all the time. did he pawn off he entire wardrobe when he got canned?

2. he went back to his wife after Rod 'recovered' from his 'supposedly' accidental brush with death. what's the chance Rod faked the whole thing just to attract attention. also, what does that event have anything to do with Tom Cruise wanting to go back to his wife?

3. the first thing Tom Cruise mentions when he comes back is that his 'company had a really big night'. if the company had a lousy night, would he be just as compelled to go back to her?

Maybe I'm missing the point. Lastly, why should I feel bad for a guy who 'only' gets 6 million over 4 years and he's pissed off about it. I understand that NFL players have a shelf life but come on now.

perhaps he preferred dressing down

they don't portray it as a fake in the movie so that is doubtful. i think the 'jerry' character gets caught up in the warm fuzzy family thing and realizes what he is/was missing

i think 'the company' reference is about the feeling thing from above. also, i think the financial security as relates to self-image aspect cannot be overlooked (especially form the sports agent perspective)

the character of Jerry was loosely based on real-life agent Leigh Steinberg. He's Ben Roethlisberger's agent currently, as with several others...

It's been too long since I've seen it, so I can't remember the specifics. but that was a pretty annoying kid, IMHO.
