Doctor tells the truth, gets in trouble.

Quote:

ROCHESTER, N.H. - As doctors warn more patients that they should lose weight, the advice has backfired on one doctor with a woman filing a complaint with the state saying he was hurtful, not helpful.

Dr. Terry Bennett says he tells obese patients their weight is bad for their health and their love lives, but the lecture drove one patient to complain to the state.

“I told a fat woman she was obese,” Bennett says. “I tried to get her attention. I told her, 'You need to get on a program, join a group of like-minded people and peel off the weight that is going to kill you.'"

When I was in high school I tried to lecture an extremely large girl about losing weight and she began to cry so I just stopped.

The Gov't should have anyone who is a tobacco user or obese(due to diet) sign a waiver that any future health care bills will be paid out of their own pocket.

That patient obviously isn't a fan of "House" on Fox.

Ramona: Hi. I'm having vaginal pain.
Dr. Gregory House: Pleasure to meet you.

Hehe, I'd love it. Unfortunately, it would never fly as the damned liberals want us to believe that smokers and fatties are victims of life, and many of the smokers and fatties think they're entitled to be a drain on society.

The last time I got together with my internal medicine guy . . . we debated whether Delmonicos in Las Vegas was better than Gene & Georgetti's in Chicago.

OK. Then what's next? If you are doing any risky activities, you are on your own? How about if you are having sex you might catch something and you have to pay for your health care bills out of your own pocket?

The best solution is the government get the hell out of the whole thing and you pay your way. That way, no one can tell you what you can or cannot do.

Reminds me of: "Oh yeah!? I may be fat, but you're ugly, and I can go on a diet"

Saw the interview with the doc last week. The article only mentions him calling her fat. That wasn't the issue.

It was his statements about her husband not finding her attractive as a result. Her husband (also obese) was used in a statement by the doctor as "if he were to die, statistically, no suitors would find her attractive".

That was pretty much uncalled for...

Sir, the husband believes that any answer he gives will be the wrong one and if he reverses himself, the wife will only beat him harder. Sir.
