have a big one in NC also

Folks,

There is a big festival that probably runs for 6-8 weeks in the fall just North of Charlotte. They own a big lot with permanent storefronts, a jousting ring, and many rides and food sources, and beer!

We have been many time and always had a great time - though not in costume. One time we brought our young daughters, probably 4 and 6 at the time. They saw the "good knight" and the "bad knight" battle it out in a jousting contest in full armor on horses. They put on a great show in pretty warm conditions. About 30 minutes later we saw the "bad knight" having a beer with some buds, obviously off duty... My younger daughter ran up to him and started asking about his horse. He immediately jumped right back into character and was very polite to her.

I'd recommend it to all!

Chuck
