Its funny that if you go to that thread and read it from the beginning its perfectly fine to call the conservatives idiots. that was done before I chimed in.....but he gets his panties in a knot when I return the volley....specificly read post #12 where I quoted Koop.......that puts it in contrast and shows Gottadiesels bias and contempt for all things that are not hard core liberal.

I make no secret I hold contempt for most things liberal....but if you are going to point fingers Gottadiesel...at least take the time to include the quote I was responding to...

NOLA needed $40M to make repairs and improvements to their levee system. They got what? $2M? the rest was sent to Afganistan.

Sorry pal, but if you think it's ok to support a group of people that doesn't mind the safety of their own people... well, that says it all.

To compare Kosovo to Iraq is silly at best. And you know that. But seeing how that is the best you have, that's enough to prove my point.

Carry on supporting "your man". His own father said he bungled the handling of NOLA, only in a loving "fathery" way.

There is only so much money to go around, and "your man" is sending it OUTSIDE of the United States. Israel and Iraq are NOT the two newest states.

My point being is we have no interest in Kosovo...we got nothing ot gain...they never threatened us in any way..and it has cost a HUGE ammount of money for zero return.

Iraq meets those guidlines...

NOLA was bungled by the local authorities in the area...and by the lowlife scum who ran unchallenged for days...many being welfare bums who refused to evacuate when ordered to do so.

It takes time to organize and transport enough people and enough supplies to cover that much area...

There is 90,000 square miles affected..New Orleans is a flyspeck in that...

So, why is it suddenly the federal governments problem to fix NOLA's problems when that state decided build a stupid sports arena that cost THREE TIMES what the levees would have cost to fix? That's along the lines of you buying a new plasma T.V. instead of groceries for your family and kids, and then demanding that the state sends you food stamps to feed them. The levee issue is nothing new in that state. You need to make sure the blame goes to EVERYONE that deserves it.

Parenthetically, I understand the plan now is to raze the superdome rather than try to restore it after the damage was done to it by the storm and the housing of all those people. Money spent unwisely is money lost many fold.

The funding of the levees and the funding of the dome are two different things. To say it is NOLA gov's fault is silly at best.

In other words, if you have a federal highway that needs to be paved, FEDERAL dollars pay for the repave NOT local.

And the same goes the other way. Local roads are NOT funded by federal dollars.

It would seem you've ventured into yet another realm where double-talk and smoke/mirrors won't work.

The FEDERAL gov. was responsible for maintaining the levees (FUNDING WISE) (majority). ACoE estimated the job @ $40M, and the BUSH administration said NO, we'll give you $2M (and then later gave another $250K)... ACoE said, there is too much to be done and the levees are in a state of peril from sinking (mostly). Bush still said NO.

BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT we had the money to give BILLIONS to ISRAEL and IRAQ and AFGANISTAN.

How the hell is that right? How the hell can ANY human justify that??????? We give money away while our OWN people are left to die? We give money away while OTHER countries spend it doing research (FSC)?

Stop the crap. The blind-bush supporters know they are wrong, and lucky for the rest of us, little by little they are backing away from him.

For example. A "local" road in my neck of the woods will have a sign posted as follows:

Federal Funding:

$1,222.00

Usually the Federal Funding reads:

$0.00

From what I've read, this is the case in most other states. The Federal Gov. doesn't care (at all) about local roads. They barely care about Federal Ones...

I can't remember which post or which thread, but I have read where BHD published his disagreement with the Bush administration and it's leader. Is that the only qualification for the blindness charge?
