Katrina and english food.

See article: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/magazine/4221838.stm

Looks like the British goverment is sending Army ration packs to the flood vistims of Katrina.

This would include meals such as:

Chicken pate
Orange drink powder
Curried lamb
Fruit dumplings in custard
Bacon and beans

A little differnet from crawfish but could make a difference.

English rations are regurgitated MRE's. It may seem odd but French rations are as good as a restaurant meal..............no kidding. I trained with French paramilitary forces and aside from their FAMAS the rations were wonderful.

I think I'm going to do some googleing and find some for duck season.

What kind of stove does it come with? A solid fuel trioxane like stove as opposed to a chemical heat pack?

How does the FAMAS compare to a Colt AR variant? Seems like the bullpup has better balance

The French rats have solid fuel, and regarding the FAMAS its a nifty little machine. It has almost 0 muzzle lift and has is as solid as an MP5. I don't think there's any match for a M4 or M16 for targets in the 50-300 meter range but the FAMAS is a lead throwing demon and stays on target when hammering on something. The shape makes it much easier for urban situations and its a real confidence builder in your hands because no matter how quickly you grab it, its always right where you need it.

If they are used by the French, they should have been designed with a great resistence to being dropped.
