Diesel G-Wagons

Don't ask why I'm wondering but are they available?

Howdy MM
You might want to post in the ML,GW,Mog forum so Dutch sees it. My Mog dealer had a very unusual GW but I don't remember if it was diesel. If you want me to check I will. Those things make the diesel cars look fast.

Oh yeah man. Really, why don't you just get a Mog? That'll be the bomb. Stick the biggest blade you can on the front for winter and make your own little town on a lake!

Howdy BHD,
320G is less than $50,000. Usually around $30,000 if I remember right and 280G you can get for good ones for $20,000 or less.

I want a MOG....I just can't justify a MOG....the only one I could afford is an ex-army gasser...

I know G-Wagons were made with the 617 diesels. Ghurka who posts on the diesel forum has the Indian knock off (Tempo?) with a turbo 616 in it.

as an alternative, since you're so close to our northern neighbors, Canada got diesel landcruisers.

I spoke with my folks' indy mechanic in the Bay Area and they suggested. http://www.keisermotors.com They are in the Campbell area. They import the Gwagens and sell other 4x4's as far as I can tell based on what you're looking for. I eyed that 1996 300GD awhile ago with the turbo OM606 engine in it. It sold but too bad it wasn't a 5 or 6 speed.

If anyone is interested in older G-wagens (gas/diesel), I know of a person that specializes in buying and reselling these cars in Europe. He drives a black early 90's G 300D, blacked out with AMG wheels. Very sharp looking car.

There are definitely diesel G Wagons. The last several months of the Star magazine (MB Club) have had an ongoing serial feature article of a guy who drove his diesel G Wagon from the US down to Tierra del Fuego and back. Very interesting series.

I don't remember the specifics of his G Wagon, but I think it was a late 80's vintage. The only engine trouble he had on the whole trip was some fuel gelling up in the Andes somewhere, preventing starting one day.

Man that would be awesome, I bet getting them to the US would be a real treat. I was wondering about the G because if I'm considering one but it would have to be a diesel.

Howdy All,
I visited Norm Keiser a few years ago. He had quite a collection of G's. and he is a real nice guy. He said he was getting ready to retire but it doesn't look like he has. Here is another website.
