Information on Boise, Idaho?

Does anybody have any information on Boise, Idaho? i.e. living conditions, sales tax, income tax, property tax, demographic, weather, attractions, etc.? Usually, there are some pretty good websites dedicated to describing life in a city...I cannot seem to pinpoint any good ones on Boise, Idaho...if somebody could provide any information, or a website, it would be appreciated...thank you...

I worked for Boise Cascade Corporation, for 15 years ending in 1990. I traveled to many a corporate meeting in Boise. I am a native of Seattle, but during those years was living in North Carolina, and Ohio. Here are my impressions in the form of short statements or words.

High desert, cold in the winter, hot in the summer, cowboys, potatoes, rural,
tumble weeds, healthy, skiing, fly fishing, the great outdoors, lily white. Once you get out of the city , the next cities are miles and miles away.

Everyone, I knew that got tranferred there really like living there. However, people often say that about places they have lived.

Personally, it is too much in the middle of nowhere for me.

My sister and brother in law live there, they like it but they moved from the rainforests of OlyWA and the rain was like, bumming them out man.

I went to a Rainbow gathering north of there in '82, close to McCall. Some incredible mountains around there. My sis tells me it's quite the up and coming town.

I always thought of it as Salt Lake City part II. It reminds me of SLC about 15 years ago. Not nearly as pretty though, and also has a high LDS population. Sandpoint Idaho looks amazing though.......

Ahhh, good ol' Boise, conjures up memories of when I was in Muncie Ind, briefly.

Used to go downtown and watch'em give haircuts, that's how exciting it was, don't get me started on the female bar habitues{pun intended}.
