InternetExplorer problem - need help
OK, this is the deal. I run W2K Professional with SP3. My problem is that I am not re-directed whenever I click on a link from within a post, or web site. Another Explorer window will launch, but no URL shows up where it should be. The only way I can re-direct is to manually copy the address and paste it into the new Explorer window and click Go. Is there a way I can have it fixed? Thanks for any help.
In addition, I keep seeing the message "Done, but with error on this page" in the bottom left whenever I visit a web site. Very annoying. |
Try updating your browser if it isn't version 6.0. See if there is any patches to solve the problem. I had a problem like this, but I reinstalled windows as there was other stuff wrong with the computer.
If that doesn't work, go to firefox. It is much faster and alot more stable than IE. |
Elau, run Servicepack 4 for Win2k which is the most current and run the updates for IE 6 as mentioned. That should fix the problem.
As an additional measure goto the Internet Options in your browser and check in the "Advanced" tab for the "reuse windows for launching shortcuts". This may be unchecked. If you don't see the URL when the window opens goto View -> Toolbars -> Address Bar (should be checked). Good luck :) |
None of the above worked. Re-installed IE this evening and everything is OK. Thanks for everybody's input.
