Wow! We built those refineries quick didn't we!!

Well fuel is down to $1.93 a gal. And oil... is going down.
http://news.moneycentral.msn.com/provider/providerarticle.asp?feed=OBR&Date=20051117&ID=5290578

But wait! I thought the reason we had to pay more was because there wasn't enough refineries. Those construction crews must have REALLY been hard at work!!!

And imagine that! The oil companies had huge profits even AFTER building all those refineries (you know, to improve gasoline production) with those new bionic men they had the cyborgs build.

Geesh, the American public are sheep.

Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Once again you prove that you can't EVER talk about a topic... just attack after attack. Hmmmm... makes me think about why you support a certain group so much.

It all seems to be getting much much clearer now.

Certain group?....thats been the Democrats ONLY game plan since before the 2000 elections.....and thats 6 years now....they need to get off the mudslinging bandwagon. In fact mudslinging has no place in politics IMHO. And I apply that across party lines.

That doesn't conform to the conspiracy theory du jour.

I just can't understand why fuel prices are going down when Bush and Cheney are still in power - as we all know the only reason they ran for office was to implement policies that would drive up the price of oil to enrich the Texas Oil companies...

What went wrong?

But evidence that record high prices are dampening demand has convinced some in the cartel that the OPEC basket price can ease toward $40 before supply cuts become necessary.

Your logic would be true IF the demand had kept up. As you can probably read from the article, demand went down and thus prices went down. Shocking developement, isn't it? This Supply and Demand thing really unnerves all but the most hardened people.

Lets use my dad as an example. Because of the prices of fuel, he cancelled his 3000 mile vacation. That frees up 300 gals of diesel. The places he would haave gone will require less resupply of their perishables and less wear and tear on their items. Multiply that by say 1 million people and you have quite a bit of fuel and other sundry items that are not needed and more fuel freed up. More fuel in the market = less demand. Less demand = lower prices. What part of that equation escapes you? If we instantly killed half the population of the USA I'll bet we could get demand to fall so flat that we have gas at $1 a gal, if that.

Yes it changes. It is a shocking concept but yes. Price goes up till people don't want it then it goes back down. Strange concept, huh?

This is interesting and explains why 98-99 Diesel MB prices spiked last month but are softening because of fuel prices.

Wow

It must be nice to be a dumbchit because everything is new news and you think that you the holder of all this new groundbreaking stuff. Keynesian's rejoice.

Damn. I should have sold my 99 E300 last month then Probably made a killing.

If it wasn't for the spam mails, I wouldn't have even heard of Supply and Demand. Good thing I read it instead of simply deleting spam.
