Funny things people do...

I looked in my freezer yesterday for a beer I had placed there and noticed that it had been replaced by 2 new ice cream containers, in additoin to the 3 that were already there.

I ask my wife if we really need to have 6 different types of Breyers and she replies that the kids eat a lot of ice cream, so do you and I, etc.... I tell her I eat ice cream maybe once every 2 months.

I come back and tell her to stop complaining about being broke after buying groceries if she continues to buy things we already have, in bulk.

She realizes that I have a point and proceeds to throw away one of the older containers because "it was bad, it was frozen". WTF????? How does ice cream stay being ice cream and not sweetened milf if not for being frozen?

We go on about our day and later at night her and her friends go out.......for ice cream.

Makes you want to go hmmmmmm!

Either you take the economic lead and put your unwilling foot down,go shopping with her, take the time to compile a list based upon what your family likes and uses or claim poverty, alloting a fixed sum for foodstuffs.

Bad habits start early and are difficult to break, sometimes communication is the key for getting a sound point across.

Perhaps you and your wife should do a weekly inventory of what you have and deduce from that exactly what you need so you do not accumulate things you already have,in bulk, great way to break the junk food chain!
truly I know no other way toward domestic economy, ask me how I know?

We must conclude from this either he loves his wife or he was wearing his Freudian slip.

Hey she is a MILF, I still love to bang her.

We already have another freezer. That ones packed too!

She actually is a very good shopper, she buys all the ice cream on sale.

She is know as a penny pincher/bargain hunter when it comes to clothes. She will scour the racks at any major store for clearance items. She'll come home with a pair of jeans tha she found on a rack that were 80.00 and buy them for 6.00

When it comes to food, she has a real soft spot for the kids and likes to spoil them a bit.

This can also be determined by reading most of my other posts on parenting.

Over the years, I have tried to convince my wife that keeping food in a freezer for an extended period of time before it is thrown away is inefficient, and we should just go to the store, buy it, come home and toss it in the garbage.

She looks at me with that look and says that's because I think like an engineer, says that I really don't understand the true nature of sale items and freezers and that I should be quiet and go do something productive.

Resistance is futile...

My MIL has a dorm fridge in the spare room, a regular fridge in the kitchen, a freezer in the pantry, and a fridge in the garage. There are two people in that household. I've tried to convince her that it's more expensive to keep all four of them running than to buy stuff on sale which she never uses. Half the stuff in the freezer is freezer burned.

I can't get on my wife for that sort of stuff...I have a lot of wasteful spending in other areas (like ebay), so I stay silent...

Am I missing something here? Why are you putting beer in the FREEZER?

Maybe a quick chill for a warm one, but freezing it?

Good luck on the wife/shopping/stock-on-hand bit. Maybe she needs a help with determining restock levels.

Ice cream does go bad in the freezer after several months; it will get gummy or tough, and get ice crystals on top from freezer burn.

Sounds like she's a good shopper, by your own admission, so why are you giving her so much grief for buying a couple cartons of ice cream, to the extent of posting a public thread to complain about it? Heck, I'm waiting for her to come post a thread to commemorate the next time you forget to take out the trash, or whatever
