I understand a lot of scrap copper wire w/ insulation still attached is sent to China as well where they burn the plastic off -- mucho toxic gasses. We banned it here in the states, there are "chopper" machines that chop it up into small pieces and they agitate the plastic off and separate it with air pressure -- heaviest pieces settle.

Must be cheaper to burn it off in China and send the gasses in the atmosphere back here to us though...:confused:
