http://www.airgundepot.com/drozdreview.html It's a blast but it eats CO2 faster than I can reload. I wish they made a tank conversion for it. I'm checking out the linked gizmo though that sucker would be FUN to shoot off the back deck. |

While we're on the subject, a co-worker bought a BB gun for starling execution. He said I need to get "red Rider witha compass in the stock" out of my mind, that BB guns have come a long way.
MedMech's provided link got me thinking about that again. I'm looking for as quiet as possible and accurate to 100 ft. I want starling heads. When I was a kid I used to do that with my old Daisy at about 50 ft or so. I was shooting robins for gumbo so I didn't fire unless the head was an available target. |

Not nearly as cool
as this one but when my son was 9 or 10 he bought a plastic, co2 powered bb "machine gun" that held 2 lbs of shot, more or less.
We had a serious pidgeon problem in our hay barns and I wouldn't let him use the 22 (would put holes in the roof). He would spend hours plinking with a single shot bb and/or pellet gun so when he saw this machine gun he had to have it. As soon as he used up the half dozen co2's that he bought with the gun (about 2 hours) he headed for the shop. An hour later he went off across the meadow to the back barn with his modified version. He had plumbed quick couplers to the gun and a propane tank with a shutoff valve, and carried a 25 foot length of air hose. 150 lbs of air in the tank would waste five lbs of bb's in no time flat, but the air refill was free. The gun still hangs in the mud room, 25 years later. Jim
