Elbow pain.......

Happy Holidays!

Over the past 4 or 5 days I have noticed that my right elbow is extremely painful, especially when I rest in on a table for example. I sharp searing pain I have not experienced before.

I haven't hurt it at all and have no cuts or bruises in the area.

Someone mentioned bursitus as a possibility.

It actually hurts today when my shirt rubs against it.

Any ideas?

Which hand do you use to operate your 'mouse' ?.
I had pain in left arm/wrist after a lot of use whilst researching recently.

Could be a form of repetitious movement injury....Carple Tunnel
There is a large nerve running through your elbow..Ulna. This is easily damaged and used to be called Tennis Elbow....
Try Googling 'Ulna' .

anyone that spends time at the mouse or keyboard should do this simple exercise whenever you get the chance.

Put you hand on a hard flat surface with your finger tips spread out. Now roll your arm forward so you can feel the tendons in your wrist stretching.

You can do it in the car or wherever but rinse and repeat and that's the easiest exercise to keep the carp away.

Good idea, I'll try tomorrow. For now, Epsom salts, ice, ibuprofen.

You get maybe the percoset or tylenol codeine 3 will dull the pain for you, make your arm work for you.

Tennis elbow, have you done any painting or yard work? Used a screw driver or been on the computer more than usual? Lots of causes, remember RICE.

my experience with tennis elbow

I would get pain in the elbow and also at times have a problem gripping with that hand. A doctor friend said the tendon / ligament gets sore where it attaches to the bone just above the elbow. This was a strong ache and not a sharp pain so it may not apply.

To determine if that was it, use your good hand to tightly hold your hurting forearm just below the elbow joint. That supports the tendon/ligament. If your arm / grip is now better you probably have tennis elbow. You can buy a strap that goes around your upper forearm at a pharmacy. It may support it enough to heal. I needed a course of steriods and about 2 weeks very light duty for the arm.

Good luck and hope it heals.

No yard work or anything like that. Coincidentally, I was experiencing the pain initially while hoisting a frosty Warsteiner.

I iced it down last night and have experienced little pain thus far today.

Thanks

Try slamming your hand in a W126 door that should take your mind off of the elbow.
