Dogs are better... They dont get moody with you, and you can wresle with them playfully...

Try that with a cat

I always thought I liked cats equally as much as dogs and never wondered what the fuss was, since weve always had a cat and a dog. But when my old dog died October of 2004 I realized cats don't really care about you as dogs do, and that I will never form a bond with a cat as strong as the one I had with my faithful ole spaniel.

Dogs. Cats are arrogant. I've met far less annoying dogs than I have cocky cats.

I have 4 cats and 1 dog. My cats play with me al the time. When I am getting ready for work my Siamese will come in the bathroom and wants to be pet and held. My oldest cat will be i my lap the second I sit down. Valentino, my 15 lb red tabby is very playful. I had a shrt hair (Gnadalf) who would fetch and retriieve.

Sugar the Shelty is sweet as can be. Very co-dependent. Always follows me around and will check in on me if get out of her sight.

I have had cats all my life. If you are expecting a cat to be a dog, then you have unrealistic expectaions. My cats love me just as much as my dog. They are at the door when I come home (all 5 of them). They are all unique just like humans. They all have their quirks. And I would lay it all down for any one of them.

I have always felt that people tend to like dogs more possibly because they are "needed" by the dog. Cats are much more capable to fend for them selves and are more self sufficient. Perhaps we have a need to be needed that cats do not full fill. Most of my cats are strays and have survived on their own. Dogs are not as capable of succeding on their own.

Cats are so cute! Most dogs are ugly :-), but I agree that dogs are much more loyal and useful.

I had 7 cats for about 10 years when I was younger. One is the mother cat (I picked her up on the street as a sick little stray kitten) and the other 6 are her offspring. I used to lie in my bed at night while listening to the roaring meowing and boisterous fighting of neighbors' male cats for the attention of my female mother cat on the roof.

davidmash: reading your post gives me such a fond recollection of my cats.

I've had both. Dogs are far more lovable. Cats generally aren't, but some can be.

The cat I had as a child eventually died, and chose to lay in rest under my parent's bedroom.

Learned a lot about women just from owning a cat!

Perhaps God likes dogs more than cats since He made humans to care for them.

Or perhaps it's because god made cats, but man made dogs...

I like both, and have both.
Dogs-race up to you when you get home, and are happy to see you. They go on hikes and so swimming, and all that good stuff.
Cats-Are intreging animals, no so easy to figure out, and much harder to read than a dog. They are just as fun to play with, but in different ways than dogs. Stocking and pouncing the mouse on a string. And cat nip, wow. Whats more fun than making your cat high.
