How rich are you??

http://www.globalrichlist.com/index.php

Kind of fun.

Notice if you make $100 a year there are 240,963,855 people with less then you.

Also notice that if you make about an average income of $50k a year you are in the 0.899% of wealthy people in the world.

I guess the 90/10 rule holds true again.

According to that, I'm in the richest .91% of people in the world.

Yet I can't afford to buy a house and my newest car is 18 years old .

Sounds like some BS propaganda to me. Thier just trying to make us believe we are doing better than we actually are. I couldn't imagine surviving on anything less than 50K a year.

After I checked mine - I was thinking no way am I that "rich" with money, so for kicks - I put in $1.00 - then it said minimal was + $90. So, I put $91. and it said:

"You are in the top 96.34% richest people in the world.
There are 219,277,108 people poorer than you".

Oh well.

You should try surviving on 15k for a year, or even 0k. You might find that your priorities shift. The most enjoyable time of my life was spent doing roofing for 13 bucks an hour; my grandfather discovered much the same. Others have found happiness in going back to a hunter/gather lifestyle ala Walden. I've always thought that entreprenures (you seem to own two businesses) would benefit the most from this life of constant challenge.

Philosophy aside, compared to the rest of the world, we are all "doing better."

Well money isn't everything. Enjoying good health and family is worth more than all the money in the world. I know affluent elderly people that have serious issues with cancer and glaucoma and the like. They would trade all the money they have to be able to quit having to spend more time at the doctor than what they spent at the office before they retired. Some of he happiest people I have ever met lived from hand to mouth much of their lives. Having money can be a chore, supporting assets you don't really need. A multi millionaire that lives in my town buys his clothes at the local thrift store and drives a 1963 Mercedes 220S that he bought new.

Woo-hoo, I'm rich!! Now, if I could just earn my current salary, and commute nightly via my transporter room to India, cash in hand, I could enjoy my "wealth."

Dude, go find a job at a place which does tuition assistance and suffer for a few years, then go get an MBA. Don't be stuck like a lot of people, 55 years old and working for the man. Do the time now when you are young, it pays off.

Note that the rating is against the world population, not the US...there are a whole host of countries with depressed economies, hence lower wages, and that moves the bell curve pretty far to the left.

It's a cute analysis, but looking around where I live, I would really say, slightly above average. I struggle too much to make my property tax IRS, insurance, utilities and so forth to believe that I am "rich".

Fortunately, I feel "rich" in other ways...

Are you joking? There are a lot of people that live with less than $50K a year. My self included.
